BIG SUR PLANT WALK, MEDITATION & PACIFIC COAST PICNIC

about this event

WITH KELSEY BARRETT OF WILDTENDER

Ascend a trail up the Santa Lucia Mountains, stopping along the way to learn the names, stories, and edible and medicinal uses of Big Sur’s native plants. Slow down to connect with yourself and the interdependent community of beings of the Big Sur wilderness. Meditate on the land while enjoying a wild herb tea, absorb the fragrance of summer chaparral, and sit amongst the trees while sampling wild foods. At the crest of the trail, enjoy a picnic overlooking the Pacific with fare from Mercado Sagrado guest chef, Greg Arnold of Darkhorse Organic.

This program involves a moderately strenuous hike on a steep trail, approximately 4 miles out-and-back with 1,500 feet of elevation gain. Please come prepared to hike in the elements, with ample water, snacks, sun protection, appropriate hiking shoes and clothing.
