The musical maestro Producer/DJ J Brave is back at Ecstatic Dance LA to bless our dance floor with sonic delights. We are so grateful to have the world touring LA native Producer/MC/DJ, Co-founder of The Luminaries Hip Hop Group, and producer of The Luminous Movement & Benevolence Festival – J Brave leading the journey this Sunday, along with Julia Planine-Troian guiding our Yoga & Contemporary Dance warm up!

J brave is an amazing multi talented artist and an amazing leader in the music & transformational community. Julia is certain to warm us up and inspire our hearts, bodies & souls! J Brave is an artist in action who uses music as a vehicle of service. This former counselor for Homeless and At-Risk youth turned MC & DJ is a on mission to brake walls, and build bridges to bring people together! He is the founder of the internationally renown Hip Hop collective the Luminaries, visionary of Benevolence Festival, and has toured the world spreading messages of peace, love, and unity throughout his travels. His debut solo album “Amethyst” has peeked the ears of global listeners, and the single “Sacred” has gone viral approaching a million video views on Facebook. This multi-talented artist fuses conscious rap and singing lyrics with hard hitting beats to inspire and empower audiences! His live shows can also expand to feature instrumentalists, singers, and dancers to accompany him on stage during his riveting heart-felt performances. He is currently on the production team and a resident DJ for Ecstatic Dance LA, and as a selector seamlessly blends genres while captivating dancers with his diverse soundscape of movement medicine. He strives to use music as a means to express his personal transformation while sharing his stories of resiliency through adversity. He is an avid speaker, and leads workshops & coaching sessions under the theme “Discover Your Sacred Offering.” J Brave is passionate about uplifting the masses, speaking against injustices, and rekindling our connection to nature so we may live in a more loving world.

Class Description :

Yoga & Contemporary Dance, created by Julia, is an exploration of the spirit of dance within yoga. Beginning with vinyasa yoga asanas in a natural flow, the class unfolds into an exploration of free-form, breath driven movement & dance to liberate one’s creative life force and cultivate embodied freedom.

Is an amazing Yoga Instructor who teaches locally in LA and facilitates international Yoga teacher trainings abroad. She’s also a professional dancer who’s specializes in contemporary dance. Her love for freeform dance as an art form is evident in how she moves on & off the dance fools and yoga mat and her skillful teaching style is world class .

➤ How it works:

We open with a special warmup yoga or movement class facilitated by a skilled practitioner. The opening class blends seamlessly into the the two hour freeform dance journey facilitated by our guest DJ. At the end of the DJ set we close with a sound bath or group exercise to ground and complete the experience.

Ecstatic Dance is a community gathering for people who want to express themselves freely, to connect, and to expand together.

Join us and enjoy a safe and inspiring space to dance without talking, drinking, and the nightclub vibe. This is about self-expression, freeing your mind and body, and connecting with yourself and those around you. No booze, no shoes and no chit-chat on the dance floor helps us keep it intentional. Amazing music helps us keep it all about Dance.

▸ No talking on the dance floor (there’s room to talk in the lounge space or quietly at the edge of the dance floor)

▸ No photos or videos; cellphones muted and out of sight

▸ Ecstatic Dance is a barefoot practice. If you need to wear shoes due to health reasons, please note dance-specific shoes are allowed, but only shoes that have not been worn on the street

▸ Children under 16 dance free!

1. Loose-fitting clothes that let you move your body and free yourself

2. Water and a water bottle. You can refill it at the venue.

3. A good attitude, open heart, your business card or flyers for networking.

4. Please leave other non essential items at home as we have limited storage space at the venue.
